Participatory budgeting in Oulu in 2023
This year, we have 70,000 euros to transform the ideas suggested by the residents into practical reality.
About this process
In participatory budgeting, the people of Oulu come up with ideas and vote to decide how the City of Oulu will use 70,000 euros to improve the well-being of the residents.
Residents of Oulu can now vote on the use of the 70 000 euros of the participatory budgeting. The voting period is 15.5–28.5.2023.
One can vote for one's favourites among the 39 proposals. After the vote, based on the results, the city will implement the proposals that receive the most votes and fit into the budget of 70,000 euros.
In January and February, Oulu residents were asked to submit ideas to improve their areas and the whole city on the Osallistu Oulu website. After the search for ideas, all feasible ideas are developed into proposals for vote together with communities and experts working for the city.
Participatory budgeting is a mode of operation in which residents decide on the use of a certain amount of money. The aim of the participatory budgeting is to increase the opportunities for residents to influence and participate, and to utilize their knowledge and expertise in the development of the city.
