Participatory budgeting in Oulu in 2022

The small island in front of Rapumaja on Dammisaari island would be covered entirely by an environmentally themed work of art that takes a stand. Rapumaja on Oulu’s Hupisaaret islands is a place of activity for all residents. A dance performance would be organised at the launch of the work, and it would also be livestreamed. When they are finished, the work of art and the livestream would be available for all the residents of the city to wander around and see. There is an intention to build a bridge to the island to make it more accessible.

The piece would be made together with a professional artist, and it could be realised, for example, by using natural and recycled materials or by implementing different experiments on energy as a part of the work of art.
