Participatory Budgeting in Oulu in 2024

The money will be used to implement painted playgrounds on the schoolyards of four different schools. The schools would be chosen at random. The students of the school would get to participate in the design of the painted playground.

• Planning is in progress
• The schools that need painted playgrounds are being surveyed
• 15 schools have signed up. 4 were chosen by draw. The painting will be conducted in Hintta, Knuutilankangas, Oulunsalo Kirkonkylä and the Christian School.
• Physical exercise and Liikkuva koulu personnel held a Painting Workshop at each school in August. The pupils designed 3-4 paintings that promote participation. The paints will be acquired during week 36 and the playgrounds will be painted during the week 37 as the weather allows. The school pupils will do the painting and they will be guided by city employees.
• The implemenations are almost finished. The final paintings will be done in the spring of 2025. Paint and supplies have already been acquired.
