Participatory Budgeting in Oulu in 2024
This year, the citizens may present ideas and vote on them to determine how the city will spend 240 000 € to improve comfort and community in Oulu.
Everyone is born an artist
Workshops will cover a spectrum of art forms such as painting, sculpture, poetry, and performance arts. Furthermore, participants will get a chance to discover their potential, develop self-confidence, learn to perceive the art and produce the art without boundaries and with meaning.
The choice of indoor and outdoor spaces is deliberate. Indoor sessions provide a controlled environment for focused exploration, while outdoor settings aim to draw inspiration from nature and the community, promoting a holistic creative experience. The year-long engagement is designed for participants to progressively develop their artistic skills. Regular sessions will create continuity and a sense of community, allowing participants to share their progress and insights.
The culmination of the project will be a pop-up exhibition. This exhibition serves a dual purpose: non-artists can present their creations to the public and earn a little profit to support their financial state, and visitors can receive a unique experience by visiting an unusual gallery, purchasing a unique art object, and fostering a sense of community and pride in Oulu's diverse cultural identity.
The project places a strong emphasis on overall well-being, addressing social, cultural, and working aspects and enhancing participants' sense of fulfilment and purpose through artistic expression.
This idea does not proceed to voting because:
Thank you for the idea! Unfortunately, the idea cannot be realized due to participatory budgeting’s quick schedule since it would require a longer planning phase and long-term resources.
